Btw, a far-right Spanish political party has tried to make huge, national PEGIDA-like demonstration throughout Spain, in most cities the protest was directly banned, although in some cities it wasn't and the affluence didn't reach more than 5 people in most of the cities, and in some places no one went. I guess Spain is diferent.

The AfD still doesn't know if it supports PEGIDA or not. They are part academic economists (who kinda don't want to associate themselves with anti-immigrant protests), and part outspoken outspoken conservatives/nationalists (who have less qualms).

Actually, that are people that are going out without excecting any benefits, risking to be stigamtized. That is nothing more than civil courage and an act of peacefull revolt. They are the opposite of all thoose party jugend who are going at the counter protest who received a command they have to make.

I'd also feel a whole lot better if I could pretend all those PEGIDA goons I disagree with are just there because their superiors ordered them to, but they really do believe the garbage they're saying, same as the opposition stepping up to protest against PEGIDA no matter how unpleasant that's got to be to accept for you.

Numbers about marching lie within the margin of error and are thus essentially the same. The thirty percent bit is new, but it also shows that an overwhelming majority of two thirds finds PEGIDA's fears exaggerated. Look, I talked to many of them. From all conversations they first indentify as Turks/Arabs/Africans than as rest. I wish it could be different but that is the reality. One day they will make up about 15% of Germanys population and Germany will experiance the same as Paris yesterday.
