I couldn't care less about gambling and gamblers; if you wan't to gamble go ahead and risk it. Yes, gambling should be legalised where it is illegal and there should be reasonable restrictions on it to somehow reduce the amount of people losing everything. For all I care, people can do whatever they want with their money as long as they pay their taxes et cetera.
I am a thirteen-year-old Dominican male known for my Europhilia and my lack of nationalism (for this country at least). I have yet to find a political ideology that fits me perfectly (I doubt it exists) but generally I'm a centrist leaning a bit toward the left. My family will move to Ireland some time in the summer.

Gambling is not necessarily pure luck. Ever heard of poker? Much more skill involved in that than with the stock market. Both are gambling.

I never liked poker and I am more of the roulette and dice kind of guy that being said this just adds to my point that gambling is not all that bad. I don't see why I have to wait till horse season to gamble, this is just wrong even in order to win you need to study the books and horses

Not unethical until you start destroying your, and perhaps to other extents, other's live due to excessive gambling. This is why we have programs to help those that get addicted, and try make sure they play responsibly. I'm not saying you would act like that, you clearly don't, but it something to be aware of since it has happened to others. Otherwise, it's fun, and if you have some winnings? even better! (but you already know that. ) Just as my country would say: Know your limit, Play within it. Have fun. :)

Personally I think it should be taxed like another business and form of income. It just makes sense, and a good reason why it should be legal.

People are going to gamble anyway, so why not use it to raise money for the states? Before state lotto, the lotteries were run by the mafia, so state lotto is definitely an improvement.

Gambling's a terrible vice, and I'm not normally one who rags on vices. It's destructive, addictive, and disproportionately affects the poor.

Not necessarily something that should be outright banned, but there should be limits in place.

I do believe it should be legal, but regulated to acknowledge that it can become an addiction. What those would be, I'm not entirely certain.

How much for a pie to the face? :p

Seriously though, I support legalized gambling. While it may have an ugly side, illegal gambling is far uglier.

It's a tax on fools, proof that people are not rational. I don't think it should be illegal, but it should be regulated to keep criminals out of the industry, I might even be happier if it was a state monopoly.

The sheer volume of online gambling ads, and people gambling online does worry me.

Eh, 'bout the same as I do about other forms of gambling- fun in moderation, but hazardous when taken to excess. And really, $1 is a pretty low price of admission for the occasional daydream of winning big. ;) Granted, I just don't spend much money on gambling, period. I mean, in the course of a year, I probably spend maaaaybe a whopping $10 on the lotto, and if I'm in Nevada for something or other, $10 on a penny slot is a solid 2-3 hours of play time for me. But then when I do plan to gamble, I also have a set budget on how much I can lose before I quit- if I happen to win some money, spiffy. But if I reach the end of that initial budget, game over.

Needless to say, not exactly a high roller here. :P

I like gambling, it allows to to figure out which bars/restaurants are actually garbage
if it has a VLT, I don't eat there. With exceptions, of course.

Gambling should be legalized as it should be up to the individual to decide what to do with his or her own money.
