The Bible in most peoples' translations also explicitly says that homosexuality is an abomination. So does around a thousand years of Christian tradition and teaching. Following that very old set of beliefs doesn't make them any less of a Christian, and pretending that it does is a frankly cheap and flimsy way to weasel out of the very real attitudes Christians have towards LGTB people. Do you think it would have given any comfort to the LGTB people killed by Christians that were motivated by their faith that they, according to you, weren't 'real' Christians?

And yet if I were to scroll up a bit, I'd find a quote of you explicitly saying that 'no true Christian' would hate LGTB people.Idzequitch wrote:In Christianity's purest form, hating people, any people, is not compatible with Christian beliefs. "If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them."
According to that pastor's translation of the Bible, it's not a contradiction at all.

Anyways, of course this is bad.
That's a bit of a unfair generalization against Protestants.
Anyways, this Pastor is obviously a utter asshole, and a hypocrite who goes against the very ideal of "Love Thy Neighbor."
