What Sun said.
I'm just making fun of the notion some people have that when we die a glowing something (I use ball cause you all have seen one, the soul) abandons the body and goes up into heaven to prance around fluffy clouds with little chubby angels.
Chubby?
Does that look chubby to you?

They've done a study on that matter at the Creation Museum, if you're interested.

They can't even argue the point without essentially conceding evolution in part has happened, AiG is about as serious a source as The Room is a good film

My response:
Actually scripture teaches that animals have a spirit - the breath of life - but humans are the ones who rule the earth and the animals. Animals are ignorant and do not have a soul (there is a difference between the soul of a human and the non-soul life of an animal).
At any rate, do you think animals have souls? Are humans animals?

Cracked did a pretty good Article on why Angels should "scare the shit out of people if ever seen in their true form according to the bible" (not the actual title).

Holy shit. That's an angel?
That's actually kind of fucking awesome. Some like 4th dimensional transition shit. I'm almost positive the authors of the bible must've been on some sort of trippy ass drug. I want some.

It depends on what you're viewing "animal" as meaning, I suppose. By scientific definition, then yes, humans are animals. But as far as it meaning a beast with animalistic qualities, then no, humans are not animals.
One has to be careful when dealing with the terms "life", "spirit", and "soul", because A) they all can mean different things from one another and B) each of them can have multiple meanings. Certainly, animals are gifted with a "spirit" in the sense that they have the "breath of life", but they do not have a SOUL, as in, a spiritual embodiment of a person that can pass into Heaven after bodily death on Earth. Only humans are granted that.
