In America the Democratic Party (American Progressivism) has taken a hit because of our horrible president (Progressive Socialism). Since the party has low approval at the moment... Especially the president and the fact that recently the Republican Party (American Conservative Ideology) has taken over both the Senate and House of Representatives, this meaning they control the entire congress right now, I predict that the next president will be Republican. Personally though I wish that we could have a nice independent or Libertarian Party member, the latter keeping out of the business that isn't there's like how I run my life... unlike democrats and republicans.

A third party candidate being president is probably just as likely as winning the lottery.

Shorten can be good when he want's to be. In any case, he's the leader of the Labor Party, and if they get elected, he's in unless Labor has another coup.
Now I'm back in the ring to take another swing

Argentina:
1. Daniel Scioli (FpV - 'mild' Kirchnerista)
or
2. Mauricio Macri (PRO - Centre-Right)
or
3. Sergio Massa (FR - Centre, ex-kirchnerista)

(And to be honest: All three will do good when elected.)

The Netherlands:
Coalition: CDA (Christian Democrats) - VVD (Right Wing Liberals) - D66 (Progressive Liberals)

Germany:
CDU (Christian Democrats)

I don't know... when Bill first became leader I thought he was completely useless. As the Abbott government has undergone a slow-motion implosion however, he's shown himself to be just the kind of stable and not-unlikeable leader that will stop Labor from tearing itself apart in a self indulgent fit of factional warfare. I'd put money on him winning the next election, if I had any.
This was formerly a signature. One day, it may return to its splendid past. In the meantime, enjoy some pictures of my cats.

It looks like it will be a very close call between Conservative and Labour, and it's likely we'll get another hung parliament.

If the Tories get more seats, I believe they'll go into coalition with UKIP; if Labour, then either the Lib Dems or the Greens.

I'm going to take a wild leap of faith and go with: more of the same. Actually, it depends whether or not the parties in opposition continue to try the "convince the public that the current govt. is corrupt" angle, which has never looked like succeeding.

Yeah, on conditions. There was even an NS thread about it somewhere (search for 'balance of power' I think for the title).I'm not sure how much difference it would make though, as the SNP would mainly be stealing Labour seats anyway, so any coalition would not gain Miliband much greater numbers, but rather mitigate his losses to the other parties.

They could possibly support a Labour or a Lab-Lib minority government. After all, they call on voters to support them in order to 'keep the Tories out'...

Not under FPTP. I'm predicting a Tory minority or small majority. It seems unlikely right now, but I think that over the coming months the Tories will establish a clear poll lead.

Honestly, I think part of Labour's problem last time was the amount of attention that Labour got during its leadership election. MPs aren't particularly popular and when the election got hijacked by personalities it was almost as if the quota of interest in Labour had overflown. Key's popular enough as a bloke that attacking him reads as vindictive jealously rather than legitimate concerns as well. That's why I think sticking to policies more strongly could change things. But as someone else said, three years is a long time.
