When such individuals consider the actions of extremist Islamist groups such as Al-Qaeda or ISIS, or the foreign and domestic policies of post-revolutionary Iran, they tend to assume that all Muslims are radical though it is only a small minority of Muslims that are responsible for all the trouble.

Furthermore, in Europe there is an element of xenophobia held by some when faced with large volumes of Islamic immigrants. This is perhaps similar to the feelings held by some in the US who oppose Hispanic immigration, itself similar to the arrival of the Irish, Chinese, Italians and other ethnicities in the 19th and early twentieth centuries.

Becaaaauuuuuuse they have the highest proportion of extremists, along with the fact that a radical sect controls large swathes of Syria and Iraq and is systematically killing all non-Sunni believers in the area?
