It's the internet. People have multiple paged threads about every grain of sand on a beach and the time required for paint to dry in relation to the thickness of the layer and artistic value of the painted surface.

I can see it now.

They start it and have their in-game rally, lots of people together. They then find that the location had been rigged with TNT, and everyone was exploded mid-rally.

I guarantee something like that will happen.

Well, PETA is apparently creating a Minecraft server to combat the abuse of animals in Minecraft. So no more killing sheep, cows, pigs or the newer animals now there. Personally, I don't understand why PETA has to be so weird and pretty extreme. The premise of the organization should be something we all agree with, which is the ethical treatment of animals. It's not that complex. One of the chief functions of PETA is to draw attention. If they do something as simple as create a PETA-friendly minecraft server, it gets people talking about them. It really is that simple. They don't necessarily think you're going to sign-up to their server... or their newsletter. They doubt that many people will change their stance on any issue, to any significant degree. But they WILL talk about it, and that's a win.
