How many Europeans would like to leave their home country?

Postby The Sotoan Union » Tue Nov 18, 2014 7:32 pm

Inspired by a thread on Americans, but with considerably less political bias, I wanted to make this thread because I haven't seen this question come up much on the internet. Europeans of NSG, would you like to leave your country and live somewhere else? Would you live in another European country? Would you leave Europe altogether? If you would like to leave your country why? Why would you want to move to the country you would rather live in?

There are certainly things that frustrate me about the UK, my feelings for the country are complicated as heck. I'm not sure where I'd go if I left. Canada or Scandinavia seem attractive as options. I guess I would like to leave on a bad day but I wouldn't on a good day.

I've always been curious about what Australia is like, I guess i'd settle for New Zealand as well.

Largely due to how much rain my area gets it'd make a nice change having less of it. And the accents, I really like Aussie accents.

But then I remember the creepy insects and dangerous animals they have over there.
Suddenly the constant gloomy weather doesn't seem so bad anymore.

These insects aren't everywhere, the dangerous animals are only really in the bush. It is quite rare if they come into the city.
This ensues

There are several things about the netherlands which make me want to leave (black pete discussion, current government destroying the country, the euro) but i also love the country, so its a love-hate relation.

If i would emigrate, australia, germany or the us/canada would seem to be my next country

England is the father, and Scotland is the mother
America is the oldest son that got tired of rules and went his own way.
Canada is the daddy's girl.
Australia the second son, and is like a second America, but decided to stick around and not make some of America's mistakes, although he still sees America frequently, like when they took a trip to Vietnam together.
New Zealand is the youngest daughter is frequently bullied by Australia, but no one seems to care.

The former colonies in India and Africa are bastard children brought about when England went on a vacation and had multiple affairs.

I think that pretty much sums it up. Although I have no idea where Ireland would fit in.

(This is supposed to funny and I'm not actually saying these are accurate descriptions of these nations)

I'd consider moving to the US as a future career move in the nuclear industry. Not sure what though.
I'll admit - this is based on an idealism of wanting to own firearms for historical and sporting purpose. The US has very few other incentives.

France and Turkey are good nuclear states - France obviously the largest nuclear state in the world, Turkey apparently wants in on the nuke train.

I wouldn't like to, but I would consider moving to say, Canada or Germany if I could find meaningful employment there. Other than that, maybe New Zealand?

Europeans of NSG, would you like to leave your country and live somewhere else?

Planning on it.

Would you live in another European country?

The UK is the plan, although German-speaking countries are other options.

Would you leave Europe altogether?

Possibly. If the relationship I am currently in doesn't work out, I'm considering Japan.

If you would like to leave your country why?

I need to go some place with more bustle.

Why would you want to move to the country you would rather live in?

The UK: good trans rights.
German-speaking countries: I like continental Europe and have decent German.
Japan: Weeaboo.
