Of course! The diameter of the pipes carrying your water don't determine the pressure of the water, and we all know that amputees grow their limbs back. Not to mention the fact that growing food is a magical process that just happens in neat little rows. I've heard that's all pretty important.

I had a deficiency and I still went through it for years, I forgot it all anyways, but managed to learn how to do it while I could, however small that time was.

It shouldn't be an elective, art? sure, aesthetics, sure...

But we need to improve our brain power and competency, skipping math isn't an option, I'm grateful I couldn't skip Math, I hated the classes but I went through it regardless and I feel that I did better because of it, sure I slept in class a lot, but I still did my homework and shit.

Society today just wants to be lazy without working for it, I am currently lazy because I have decided I worked for it, after all most of my life has been an uphill battle.

Scrapping the teaching of algebra, trig, calculus, and so on to improve America's math scores makes as much sense as trying to win a horse race by replacing your thoroughbred stallion with an old blind ass.

Algebra is a fairly basic skill. I use it on a regular basis, and my job would be negatively impacted if I did not know it.

Sure, let people decide which courses to take at more advanced levels, but don't skip the basics like this.
