Well, it's not exactly 100% certain that anyone else aside from the native population (obviously) and the Vikings discovered the Americas before Christopher Columbus, but it's not 100% certain that those groups were the only ones to have possibly discovered the Americas either. For all we know, just about everyone could've known about it... but that fact could've just gotten lost with time.
