It will, in my opinion, be like Dec 31, 1999.

Prince will now re-release his song "1999" to now read "We're gonna party like it's Dec 20, 2012"... Not the same ring to it though.

The only thing that will (at least hopefully) end on 2012/12/21 is all the predictions that the world will end then. Unfortunately, people’ll just pick another date.

I hope the world doesn't end on December 21st. It'd totally fuck up the Solstice Orgy. :(

At least it can be prevented. I don't see how computers failing is gonna destroy us all.

It's a meaningless day that people have completely misunderstood. Although you do bring up a point about a "new moon effect" occurring, wherein there is a spike in crime on that day by opportunists. I think I'll be wearing a bulletproof vest and carrying an AK-47 that day.

It depends which computers fail, and how dependent you are on them.

Of course, it's probably going to be another Y2K, in that people realise the potential issue, and actually fix it beforehand, so that everyone comes out on the other side saying "what is there to worry about with all these computer bugs?" One of these days, that's going to bite them all in the ass.

I see that happening. I really don't depend on cps. The ones that keep the food safe I do. The ones that keep the water safe maybe, you can boil the water for an hour then put it through a strainer and you'd have healthy water.
