I don't get it. Why would visiting the garden mean you know anything about anything in the North?

You opted for Alliance, theres a waste of a vote. They just exist to try to piss of unionists and nationalists alike.

There's a two minute gap between Nadkor's post (the one in which she says you're a woman) and the one in which I said Fionnuala sounds quite mythological to me. The part in which I said I should change he to she was an edit (the post has 2 edits one in which I added the change from he to she and one in which I put he and she in italics). Do you really think two minutes is enough to read her post, look Fionnuala up, translate Saoirse and then write a post?

I voted for Alliance because both sides seem a bit to radical for my taste. That's why I'd like a leftist but unionist party.

What 'radical' part of SF policies do you dislike?

Maybe radical isn't the best word but my dislike of Sinn Féin is mainly due to the fact that they're Irish nationalists; they're free to have their opinion but I can't possibly agree with them.

What policies beyond their support for a United Ireland offend your sensibilities?

What radical DUP policies for that matter?

1) Apart from their support for a United Ireland and their apparent support of Basque independence (my parents are Basque) I support the majority of their social and economic proposals;
2) The DUP is eurosceptic, and they're economic and social conservatives.

Sinn Féin policies I support:
-Their opposition towards European austerity policies (I support the EU but it needs to reform it's economic policies)
-Increasing capital gains tax
-Their support of placing a cap on public sector pay at realistic rates.
-Legalising same-sex marriage

DUP policies I don't support
-Their apparent support of creationism
-Opposing abortions for victims of rape (although Sinn Féin doesn't support liberalising abortions either)
-Their opposition of the Good Friday Agreement

Again, why not just vote for the Northern Ireland Conservatives? Jesus.

I'd prefer to vote for a party with a chance of representation.

Oh god and one of their main policies is to support symbols of the union. Still riling up the divisions there lads? Good work.

Bilbo Baggins supports Labour. I don't think any further discussion is needed.

If I was from NI I dunno what I'd do, prolly vote Green or spoil my ballot or something. I'd never vote for the Unionist parties or Sinn Fein in a million years, and don't know enough about the SDLP or Alliance to have an opinion on them

If you don't vote for DUP, SF, SDLP or Alliance it's a wasted vote really so you might as well spoil it. Of those four SF are the only ones getting anything more progressive past the DUP

What have they done? Deselected a candidate after finding out they're gay?

Yeah I don't buy that as a reason to vote for parties though, same reason I've never voted Labour. Don't care if they're less bad than the Tories, still shite.

Based on my rudimentary knowledge of Northern Irish politics the Alliance party, I seem to remember their being a unionist party which wasn't a conservative party but its name escaped me.
Born in Cambridge in 1993, just graduated with a 2.1 in Politics and International Relations from the University of Manchester - WHICH IS SICK

PRO: British Unionism, Commonwealth, Liberalism, Federalism, Palestine, NHS, Decriminalizing Drugs, West Ham UTD , Garage Music &, Lager
ANTI: EU, Smoking Ban, Tuition Fees, Conservatism, Crypto-Fascist lefties, Hypocrisy, Religious Fanaticism, Religion Bashing & Armchair activists

Economic Left/Right: 0.88
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -4.87
