While it would be infinitely better if people flocked to libertarianism, and not the Libertarian Party but to real, hardcore minarchists, that's NOT going to happen.

Well, that's what centrism means. Middle Ground Fallacies and Roots in Political Apathy. "Pragmatism" is such a vague term, you could mean whatever you want with it, and whats "common sense" on...say...abortion? "Common Sense" is out the window when we are talking about American Politics. For fuck's sake, there is a party in this country with a monopoly on anti-Common Sense ideology.

GOP will, unfortunately, take both chambers.

In terms of the Senate, I predict that Republicans will have 51 or 52 seats.

The US does need to be regulated, it acts as an example.

God damn, we could just be Turians, play by the UNs laws but be its enforcers, someone fucks up, we fuck them up.

We become an example, etc.

Whats wrong with you people, you lack creativity, will, cooperation, no wonder we have gridlock.

I'd like it to be swapped from the way it is niow, Either party being well and truly in charge is a bad thing(although I would hate an all-GOP congress more than an all-dem congress).
it is my firm belief that I should never have to justify my beliefs.

Here's my predictions for the Senate in 2014:

Democrats 45
Republicans 55
Image

Alaska, Colorado, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Kentucky are clear wins for Republicans.

Ernst has held a steady lead over Braley in Iowa and that's why I think the GOP will win there.

In Kansas, the Republican candidate 'Roberts' is currently behind in the polls. However, he seems to be getting momentum while the Independent candidate 'Orman' is beginning to decline.

Georgia has been strongly for the Republican candidate for most of the race, but has fallen behind by a fraction of a point. But they are recovering from whatever happened that cause him to sag in the polls.

North Carolina and New Hampshire are going to be very close races. Both Republicans are behind, but the New Hampshire Republican is gaining ground in the polls. The North Carolina Republican candidate 'Tillis' has be behind for a while, but he shows no sign of weakening. The reason I think he's going to win is due to voting practicality. Libertarian candidate 'Haugh' is at about 5 points and is spoiling the Republican's chances of winning. If voters realize that Haugh can't win, they might change there vote to Tillis. That will be enough to give him the slight edge over the Democratic Incumbent 'Hagan.'

I think that's a little overly optimistic in favor of the Republicans. I think that it will be more like 47 democrats & 53 republicans.

Well In reality I feel it will be 53-47 Republicans, but after looking at each individual race, It's hard to say which one they will lose. But if they were to lose in one or two races, it would be New Hampshire and North Carolina.

probably. Although, they may win Georgia. So it's really a gamble. Election day is a week away, so we'll find out then.

Well, atm the GOP is struggling due to the fact that it disproportionately relies on older, white voters. The younger people who replace those voters as they are dying are more socially liberal and racially diverse, so if they continue on their current trajectory, it will become more and more difficult for them to win races outside of very traditionally conservative areas.

They have to somehow adjust to the changing social climate. I would be much happier with a more libertarian GOP.
