Christie isn't going to balance the budget in 3 years. There's another great depression coming, and it may come in the next 5 years.

Democracy does not work by electing those who know how national expenditure works, democracy works by electing the lowest common denominator.

I'd prefer the Green Party to control both houses but, we're Americans so fuck responsible parties. Jason Carter for governor, Joe Biden 2016 and Democrats in both houses!

Romney was a moderate when he was governor of MA. Unfortunately, GOP politicians from blue states inevitably move to the right on the national level.

It's clear Obama wasn't the president people expected. His approval rating at an all time low, abuse of power from both the President and Democrats is the Senate, and the failure of every piece of legislation they had to offer, this is definitely going to be a GOP year.

I hope Republicans take full advantage of this opportunity, because who else is going to prevent America from being bankrupted, or nuked, or turned into a full dictatorship.

Obama is not the Democrats. As for the issues, I don't like the GOPs stance on gay marriage or contraception. I agree with them on illegal immigrants.

Of the two, the GOP is marginally the lesser of two evils.

Oh I am not suggesting they are perfect. They at least are willing to toss a bone while the Repubs toss platitudes and tax cuts for the wealthy. I would probably like them more if I was wealthy but I am not.

I have suffered each time there was a Republican President. Even Saint God Regan saw me out of work. Was with the DoD back then. That's one thing that amazed me with him. I do congratulate his image makers. He was all defense and war and yet he cut defense. One facility I watched over saw a 45000 workforce reduced to 7000 under his watch.

I do wish there was a good Republican but sadly they are lacking these days.

I have done best under two Presidents: Clinton and Reagan. Of the 6 men who held the office while I was aware of who did (and the 8 in my entire life), I consider these two to be the only good ones.

I recovered under Clinton. Regan and Poppy Bush did their best to make me poor. The shrub nearly got me. Obama isn't great but he is better then the shrub. I shudder at the thought of Romney. We would have been in a greater depression. He was delusional. "Just foreclose on everybody so we can start the recovery." (well not exact quote). Really Mit? Wipe out 40-60 million households and the economy will rebound?

Indeed. The repubs are going to have to have a "blood bath" before they can rebuild into something meaningful.

No, I work for a large company and my premiums went up. No I am not a gun seller, but the price of guns and ammo went up due to the increase in demand when he was attempting to pass more gun restrictions.

Well, I can't really comment on the first one, but that second bit sounds more like the free market responding to outside causes. Thought you liked the free market?
