I should have picked Rome. I was watching TV.

New Kereptica: Since power is changed energy over time, an increase in power would mean, in this case, an increase in energy. As energy is equivalent to mass and the density of the government is static, the volume of the government must increase.

Rome fell apart because they were self-entitled little shits who took everyone over. Their Senate even killed emperors. We don't have that kind of trouble.

Hopefully Rand Paul can help change the GOP to a libertarian/Lincoln Republican Party.

I would hope so, though he's a tad too isolationist for my liking. Sure we could get our noses out of well, everywhere if/when ISIS is destroyed, but, people like Paul need to recognize we still need to take a semi-active role in geopolitics. Other than that though, he might have my vote come 2016.

Well you wouldn't be stuck with uncontrollable spending, debt, hatred among half the countries in the world, and wars in Somalia, Iraq, Syria, Yemen, and Libya.

I agree. While homosexuality probably won't be banned thanks to our progressive Supreme Court (unless some bozo tries to pass an amendment), abortion rights, immigration, and equal pay will all go up in flames.

If they win the presidency in 2016, it would be even worse, as it would mean they have full control of the government, and the policies they would implement would be absolutely horrific.

Oh, and the Libyan conflict started because people got sick of Ghaddafi.

The main reason I would suggest voting for him is because of his balanced budget plan that will balance the budget in 3-5 years.

I think the GOP realizes it can't win over the country now. They've royally screwed up by destroying every chance they have with the gays, women, and minorities of this country.

I miss the days when Congress got shit done. Why in my earlier years I recall Charles Sumner getting caned almost death by a backward southerner for being so on the dot, and up to date on things.

Okay Governor, but not President of the United States.

I think he could do it. The Bridgegate thing didn't involve him, he won't be burdened by that anymore moving forward. He's a moderate, which gives him better chances than any Romney-esque candidate would have. And ultimately, the man reaches across the aisle to get shit done.

I'm talking about progressive in the sense of knocking down state bans on homosexual marriages.
