The ancient Greeks? Yeah, they had influence. Until Rome came along.

Aren't they the ones who want to turn us into a hermit? Yeah, no. Once you have this influence on the world, you're stuck with it until the end.

I agree. While homosexuality probably won't be banned thanks to our progressive Supreme Court (unless some bozo tries to pass an amendment), abortion rights, immigration, and equal pay will all go up in flames.

Well you wouldn't be stuck with uncontrollable spending, debt, hatred among half the countries in the world, and wars in Somalia, Iraq, Syria, Yemen, and Libya.

I would hope so, though he's a tad too isolationist for my liking. Sure we could get our noses out of well, everywhere if/when ISIS is destroyed, but, people like Paul need to recognize we still need to take a semi-active role in geopolitics. Other than that though, he might have my vote come 2016.

If they win the presidency in 2016, it would be even worse, as it would mean they have full control of the government, and the policies they would implement would be absolutely horrific.

The main reason I would suggest voting for him is because of his balanced budget plan that will balance the budget in 3-5 years.

Half the world hates us until the next earthquake, hurricane, or terrorist attack hits. Then it's run to America for more help.
Oh, and the Libyan conflict started because people got sick of Ghaddafi.

I think the GOP realizes it can't win over the country now. They've royally screwed up by destroying every chance they have with the gays, women, and minorities of this country.

If it was progressive it wouldn't have made the Citizens United or Hobby Lobby decision.

Who knows. After they win the Senate, the presidency might be a possibility after all.

I'm talking about progressive in the sense of knocking down state bans on homosexual marriages.Greater Fascism wrote:Those were all politicians. Rand was an eye doctor before he was elected Senator.
Aaaand what does being an eye doctors have anything to do with running a country?Greater Fascism wrote:Who knows. After they win the Senate, the presidency might be a possibility after all.
You did read the comment you quoted, right? I said the GOP can't win the country over. That applies to the senate too.
