What beliefs do you follow and why?

Postby Bohemia Minor » Fri Sep 26, 2014 5:50 pm

Yes, it's me again. The guy who began the God thread.
Christianity: Worship God, be good in general, go to heaven. If you don't, then you go to hell. It's that simple.
Buddhism: Do away with the wanting some of life over a series of reincarnations until you reach nirvana, or enlightenment.
Islam: Worship Allah, follow his rules. That's basically it.
Satanism: WHY!?
Greek/Roman Polytheism: That's a lot of worshipping you have to do.
Hinduism: Also a helluva lot of gods to worship.
Atheism: If you just don't follow any deity at all.
If yours isn't on here, list it below.
Judiasm: I have no idea

Greek polytheism. One of the few religions to be honest about what human-like gods would do with their time.

Incorrect. Atheism requires zero faith.

In fact, LACK of faith can be all that is necessary

1. Atheism isn't a religion
2. Buddhism isn't spelled like that
3. Greek/Roman gods aren't a religion; they are the beings worshipped within Greek and Roman polytheism
4. There are a hell of a lot more religions than that
5. These are horrible descriptions of the religions

Lacking a belief in something doesn't take any faith. Otherwise, we'd all (everyone, not just atheists) be very faithful, since none of us believe in fairies and unicorns.

I don't know what branch of atheism you follow but mine requires me to deny the existence of god 3 times after I wake up and then defecate on a bible, torah and koran. I must have much faith that the smell will have gone away before I get home. :)

I am a Christian. I don't currently have a denomination, but I am looking for one. My beliefs are somewhere along the lines of Anglo-Catholic, Old Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, or possibly even Lutheran.

Oh no, my nations name has nothing to do with that. It comes from a bunch of 14 year old boys I watched showering after wearing neoprene. :)

Christianity: it's apparently not as simple as OP thinks it is, as he's forgotten the part about Jesus, also known as the whole damn thing.

Never, never be afraid to do what's right, especially if the well-being of a person is at stake. Society's punishments are small compared to the wounds we inflict on our soul when we look the other way.
We have nothing to lose but the world. We have our souls to gain.
You!
Me.
