I don't know much about Slender Man, but isn't he the villain of the game? As in the person that is supposed to be looked at as an evil thing that you don't want to be like? Again, I'm not into it, but I don't think we should ban something simply because we don't agree with what the bad guy is doing.

If kids are getting influenced by this thing, then my question is: "where are the parents?" Isn't it also the parent's job to teach kids right from wrong? And not, say, a video game?

And exactly how would you put a world-wide, or a US government, restriction on this particular site? There's no real restrictions other than the, "I confirm I am 18" button, so there's not much in the way of getting to restrict people from that.

To the question I say no. Should violent video games be banned? Should movies glamorizing crime be banned? Should TV shows be prohibited from featuring killers? No is the answer. Of course, there will be a few insane people that do have trouble distinguishing fiction from reality, but on the whole violent media provides a safe outlet for violent thoughts. Mental illness is not caused by reading horror stories or any other type of media, but it might provoke what is already there.

Edit: It is near impossible to ban an idea, especially on the internet.

It is quite a spooky game, I have 'the Eight Pages' on my computer, but I haven't played it for a few months. I don't think it should be banned unless it has something with heresy or blasphemy in it. Other than that, it's just a horror genre that people take too seriously.
