No, 9/11 was real.

I am surprised that an African would make a nation about Ebola as a joke.

The sig is part of the joke. Ebola is African and asexual.

Sometimes airplanes and jokes don't mix well. I've heard stories of things like that happening with bomb jokes as well.

Poorly executed joke. I could have done better.

People do joke about those things. Some of the jokes work better than others, and there are some that you should save for when it is just you and your friends and not when you are on an airplane.

If the Ebola "outbreak" occurred in America, I imagine that I and other reasonable people would continue to have the same attitude towards it, whether that means making jokes or simply treating it for what it is, an overblown issue.

An overblown issue that the WHO is considering a threat, even to doctors treating patients in developed countries with the right equipment? And one that the CDC deemed worthy of setting up airport checkpoints for? (Sure the checkpoints are half assed and virtually useless, but still!)

Globally, it is an overblown issue. For those African nations where it is actually occurring, it's a serious issue. Do you see the difference, son? The WHO is treating it as a threat, yes, because it is a threat to the nations where people are becoming infected. The CDC, being an American agency, is overreacting. That's what America does best.

The death of over 3000 is a threat for countries that don't have a strong government, but in developed countries it will never spread like that.

Did you mean another nation about Ebola?

Nations about America have been very common on NS for a long time, and you have one yourself.

The name "Ebola" was actually taken a long time ago. I think I tried to use it 4 years ago (when I first discovered NS) and it was already reserved because someone else had used it before that. That's why I had to add dashes.

There would still be jokes because that is something that people do, but it would scare people a lot worse to have it happening close to home.
