Yet it doesn't have a vaccine and it Ebola reaching the USA could mean it could reach other countries with advanced healthcare systems as well. I am a Malaria survivor and I still support more resources going to Ebola than Malaria

So wait just a second? You think that the disease which has affected under 10,000 people deserves more attention than the disease which has:
- 219 million cases per year
- 660,000 deaths in a year
- 200,000 estimated infant deaths yearly
- Responsible for 30–50% of hospital admissions and up to 50% of outpatient visits
- Takes up ~40% of public health spending
- is one of the leading causes of neurological disabilities in African children
Time to get your priorities in order.

Ebola is one of the deadliest diseases known to man according to the WHO.
http://www.nature.com/news/ebola-virus- ... ds-1.15777
It is mutating rapidly.

It can become airborne while for Malaria their are effective strategies to deal with it such as mosquito nets that I once owned and are cheap to manufacture so yes I believe Ebola is a more important priority.

A disease that has, thus far, killed fewer people than an average flu season.
Also, a very specific set of genes has to be turned on to become airborne. Hell, we don't even know if it could do that, it may not have the necessary genetic material to do so.

It still has the potential to become airborne and with Africa already having other measures for Malaria, Ebola is a priority. After all, it is better to be safe than sorry. Trust me when I say those mosquito nets are very useful. I personally miss sleeping with them now that I am in Canada.

Yes, it has the potential to become airborne, just like sharks have the potential to grow legs and start breathing air.

Part of it. Note how the researcher never actually says it's likely to become airborne, just that it could. Non-zero chance of Ebola going airborne. Non-zero chance of sharks hunting on land. Non-zero chance of the Earth collapsing into a black hole. There's a non-zero chance of pretty fucking much everything.
