Yes, here he is speaking directly, I think I'm still misunderstanding you.

...He did not, I believe? The angel is saying "I [the angel] swear that God declares... ".

He is speaking in the name of God, like Ethel said. Thus, he is called a "מלאך - messenger" (which usually refers to an angel). It's not like He is His own messenger. I would think it's demeaning to call Him a "messenger"; thus, it's referring to a prophet or angel.

Personally, I consider Messianic Judaism to be rather synonymous with Christianity. But, I do respect the maintenance of some customarily Jewish traditions.

Of course, you very well could be Messianic and ethnically Jewish for all I know, which means you would be a(n ethnic) Jew regardless of your faith.

Believing in christ kinda says Christian in pretty large letters. Folks can still have matzohball soup and eat brisket on passover without being jewish.
