Was watching a news program and they mentioned that the PRC does not recognize the Jewish religion. Seems they only recognize five religion which must follow certain guidelines. Going back, China has around 2500 of the Jewish faith, going back to the 7 century, who cannot openly practice there religion. There cultural places have been demolished and so on. The report kept repeating why Israel did not step in. Of course there is the problem that it seems Israel does not recognize them and the PRC will not let them out.

Israel (the state) generally has had a poor response with Jewish communities outside of Ethiopia and Yemen. Even the latter two communities have had a myriad of problems assimilating into Israel. It's a tricky thing running a secular state like Israel ...

Happy Hanukkah to everyone! My mom loves Chanuka even though she isn't observant at all otherwise. Thankfully I like Chanukah too.

When I was in elementary school, a Jewish girl once invited me to her family's house for a Hanukkah party.

I don't remember much because it was a long time ago, but I vaguely remember enjoying the event and the latkes, which my family borrowed the recipe for and occasionally cook for ourselves to the present.

in case you were wondering, my original comment about jewish delis was genuine. the food aint bad

I've been to a kosher restaurant before. It's honestly really good, far better than the French food I'm used to here

I'm not Jewish, although I possibly have some Jewish ancestry. Judaism is a religion, not an ethnicity.
