When the base word is a verb XaYaZ, then XoYeZ = XYZing or XYZer. I guessed the rule when the base word is a noun XeYeZ.
Servant and slave I believe are the same thing in the Torah.
There is a Youtube video asserting eved = the work that one does: slaves and freeborn workers with wages do similiar work
