It isn't paranoid to wonder if someone who die hard stands behind a nation that stole our nuclear secrets is more loyal to that nation or ours.

First off Israel didn’t steal any nuclear secrets. The French helped them obtain nuclear weapons. So if you want to blame anyone go blame the bloody French.

We want to employ this space to discuss Jewish culture, religion, and identity in a positive and uplifting way as much as possible. To answer the question, my loyalty resides with my homeland. Nonetheless, one can be a good American and a Zionist. And, if forced to choose my homeland's government over my people when my homeland's government is in the wrong, I'd make aliyah with boundless sadness in my heart.

Generally though when we talk about isreal, it is within the religious tradition as the promised land, or the land of milk and honey. Or once in a while the religious issues of the western wall, We really dont talk about the current geopolitical reality that is the modern state of isreal.

Since my grandmother passed away at the ripe age of 97 I've been settling her affairs in Montana and as it turns out, there are some Jews here who need help.

I only really experienced Judaism through the Christianized Old Testament (which is not a very good way to experience a whole other religion) so I would like to attend one to see real actual Judaism in person without being filtered through by an entirely different faith. It's never been a burning fervor, but it has been in the back of my mind for a long time.
