Should NASA be abolished?

Have you been to Cocoa Beach? It's a lovely place, right near the Kennedy Space Center, and it has space museums and tons of rocket scientists. They have been trying posting.php?mode=quote&f=20&p=21774247#to pull back and reinvent the space program after the demise of the shuttle, and in my opinion they have come up with some workable ideas.

Some are still NASA, others are ex, but would run back if there were an opening.

Let's give them a chance.

I divide my time between Glasgow Scotland, Tampa, and Vero Beach Florida. When shuttles launch I can see it from my house. I've also been to the Space Center numerous times. While cool, it doesn't change the fact that they're a waste of resources which would frankly be better spent on repairing infrastructure. Or paying down the national debt.

NASA really serves no real function today, so I'd agree that we'd be better off if it were shut down. The simple fact of the matter is that all the 'experiments' which NASA conducts are highschool level juvenile projects which could be done on earth too.

Space is the final frontier for democracy and freedom.

America should be there in full force, not just as a private effort.
