This sort of thing makes it really hard for me to state I'm on the side of Republicans and other conservatives ... hopefully we can pull over more people that have actually thought through their ideology rather than parrot whatever their peers say. Then again, I feel as if there's a loud minority somewhere that the Democrats are embarrassed of. Just can't think of it at the moment.

Right now for conservatives, to compromise with any liberal leaders is seen as "giving in to the enemy" and is akin to political suicide.
That is what I mean by not being allowed to compromise.
When Republicans get control of their party back( from the wingnuts) They will be, once again, a party that can be worked with.
I want to see the Republicans get their party back. The only thing that scares me more than the damage Republicans are doing right now is the idea they may dissolve and we will have one party in power.
Whenever one party has all control, things usually turn out for the worst. With a few examples, this is mostly true.
