What if the White House was also hit on 9/11?

Given that the White House is less structurally sound than the Pentagon, it's probable that the entire building (at least the parts above ground level) would've been destroyed.

What would be different? Well, we'd probably have some memorial there to remember the event, but history wouldn't have been too different.

A little late of a response but...

Considering that the fourth plane would've struck following the Pentagon being struck, the Capitol (and/or White House) would've already been evacuated by the time that United 93 would've crashed into the Capitol or White House, that is IF the plane would've gotten past the extensive Anti-Air systems strategically put into place throughout Washington, D.C. and would've gotten past the aircraft scrambled by Langley following the incident at the Pentagon. If United 93 wasn't taken over by the passengers, it would've been shot down far from its' designated target.

And I'm saying you can't say that as an absolute certainty. The current defenses were not in place that day and as someone's said above, the fighters flew the wrong way.

To be fair, the F-15s could have been on top of Flight 93 within two minutes if they could floor it, and it was already within range with their AIM-120s.

No. We invaded Afghanistan because the Taliban refused to hand over Osama bin Laden after we asked. Iraq came later. I hardly think we would have "redrew" the whole region just because the White House or the Capitol had been hit.

I'd definitely be surprised if Air Force reports show that they were not on high alert once they got the news that there was actually a terrorist attack going on.
