What if the White House was also hit on 9/11?

I would have been more worried if the Capitol had been attacked where, unlike the White House, people actually go to work and we might have lost a shit-ton of Congresspeople. Honestly, to me, the Capitol seems more likely to collapse, what with it's gigantic dome.

After the Pentagon was hit, Langley scrambled all of their aircraft. Considering that Flight 93 was rather far away, it would have probably been blown out of the Sky before it reached DC.

The Secret Service acquired them in 1995 after that Cessna attempted to ram the White House and hit only the Lawn.

I can't find any direct sources or reports of a combat air patrol on September 11, 2001. But I did find a Factsheet dealing with an operation called "Noble Eagle" which did comprised of combat air patrols by the air force hours after the attacks which was improvised at first and then evolved into a permanent defense requirement:

This was on top of the USAF and RCAF CAPs in the Northeast, and Langley's F-15s all over the Place.

Considering that the fourth plane would've struck following the Pentagon being struck, the Capitol (and/or White House) would've already been evacuated by the time that United 93 would've crashed into the Capitol or White House, that is IF the plane would've gotten past the extensive Anti-Air systems strategically put into place throughout Washington, D.C. and would've gotten past the aircraft scrambled by Langley following the incident at the Pentagon. If United 93 wasn't taken over by the passengers, it would've been shot down far from its' designated target.

And I'm saying you can't say that as an absolute certainty. The current defenses were not in place that day and as someone's said above, the fighters flew the wrong way.
