Opinions on bullpups, what are they?

Do you have one you like or do you hate them? Why?

Will post my opinion after work.

I like the P90 and the AUG as both are easy for me to hold level and reload, while some like the TAR21 have to much weight at the back and have to hold vertical to reload since I use my weak side hand (left hand in my case) to shoot due to being left eye dominant, also don't like the Famas as i could never get comfortable holding the rifle compared to the M4 I carried, or the 240 or MK14 I used in my year over in Afghan

I like them, shorten the overall length and contain the full rifle stopping power. They all look ugly as hell tho, but they get the job done. Reloading sucks ass, too awkward, and I'm lefty so I bounce brass off my nipple and neck.

The KSG is great

t. Own one

I like bullpups, I don't like their cost. For those us in states that can't get SBRs they are a good alternative.

I've always loved the MP5SSD. It's silenced, has decent accuracy and fire rate, and it super comfortable too.

I like the look myself, and how compact they are. I just can't justify paying out the ass for one, and I hear the triggers are less than stellar.

Not a personal fan. Considered getting one for my wife because she tends to be sensitive to support hand weight. We ended up going with an AR build that lessens foward weight, because CA compliant bullpups are hard to find.

They look chunky to me, almost like prototype weapons or something constructed in the backyard. I do like the p90, predominantly because it ejects straight down instead of into my body.

Being a left handed shooter myself I do find the ejecting brass annoying but once you have shot a 240 you just kind of ignore and flip the color up to keep it from going down your shirt

Honestly I find lefty really weird. Like bolt actions are way easier in my opinion. My thumb just wraps around the bolt so fluidly it almost feels natural. Bullpups though just launch them straight into you. Any standard repeating rifle tends to either flip over my head, or out over my right arm. Pups are a continuous patter of brass on my chest.

Weird as most Bullpups I shot you can change the ejection port side. Almost all bull pups are able to be shot by both hands without that issue you described

The PS90 is ok. I plan on building an AR57 on a gun-grabber compliant lower. It would eject downward, be nicely low profile, use the 50round PS mags, and cost less. It wouldn't be as short though.

I really want to grab a PS90 at some point down the road, that could be a really fun gun to make shoot fast.

Then I'm just dumb. I'm not super familiar with them and have fired a handfull. Never thought to ask if the port changed. That's awkward :p

How do you think I felt when I have gotten to use the TAR-21 or the AUG when I was in the USAF. I had round go into chest and then the owner be like owe ejection port changes sides

I'm a big fan of the M39 myself (I love mine), and I don't like the stocks on the 1895 Chileans; which takes away from the overall appeal to me. Though I'm still looking for a Mauser, might get an 8mm Yugo.

Oh I did as a combat controller. I carried a M240B/MK14 and A PRC-117. All I did was pop my collar up or mad sure my Smersh was covering my neck correctly to prevent hot brass from going down my shirt and IBA
