No, just that 5.56 and 9mm PB are cheap ammo. At least as far as I found. The only real expensive ammo would be the 8mm Mauser. And the 7.62x39 can be cheap, but I have no need for it despite owning a Yugo SKS (that I plan on selling in the near future).

That makes sense to.

Went to go see my friend with cancer day before their surgery. They got some new guns. a .22 with one of those pullback bolt that only pest rifles have. Very appealing finish. It's like a soft green wood the same color as a medium green camo. The other is the black european style 12 gauge at first glance it looks badass but upon further inspection it's clear how cheap it was made. As does the made in china. Wonderful tac rail and above average rear sight but there's no front sight so slugging it would be a pain. Very smooth action on the pump. All together its like a really cheap Benelli (not the ones with a vertical grip). Throw a glass sight on there or green dots on the rear sight and it'd be perfect.

Anyone remember the 2013 AWB and the Mini 14? Because I do. Because I care.
Most of the time I have no idea what the hell I'm doing or talking about.

I've heard of the Mini 14. Isn't it basically the civilian version of the M14 battle rifle?

It's the 5.56mm version of the civilian version of the M14.

It's the 5.56mm version of the civilian version of the M14.

I was close. The M14 was the last battle rifle to be used in American service. M4/M16 and most modern assault rifles don't fire full rifle cartridges, like the M14 or the M1.

I'm pretty certain the US Military has a battle rifle.

The M38 Enhanced Marksman Rifle
From what I can read, it's a sniper/designated marksman rifle used by the US Marines.
It too appears to be a variant of the M14.

Anyone else find it interesting that the US Marines are switching to the M27 IAR (Infantry Automatic Rifle) to act as their Squad Automatic Weapon?

It's been in service since 2010; however, in December 2017 is when the Marine Corps revealed a decision to equip every Marine in an infantry squad with the M27.
So... the idea of using it as a SAW is relatively new.

Using it as a SAW was the original idea. Giving the entire squad one is new.

Disregard that last post.

The US Marine Corps plans on replacing M4A1 as the standard issue service rifle.
I think it is also going to act as a Squad Automatic Weapon at the same time.

Yea.
I can see why it's probably better than the M249 SAW, and it was interesting because it was them going back to the idea of automatic rifles.

But know they plan to replace the M4A1 with it. I wonder if it's better than the M4A1 and how much better it is.

Kind of lame if cosmetically speaking, it looks close to identical to the M4 variant they use now. Worse, is that it uses the same caliber and isn't moving to a round with greater punch such as 6.5 mm Grendel. The M27 IAR appears to not constitute any major shakeup or innovation.

I remember Gunny taking the HK416 for a spin on Mail Call, supposedly one can bury it in the sand and fire it upside-down with no issues.

Huh.

I know that the HK416 is a pretty good gun, and that the M27 is based off of it.
Now I need to find this episode of Mail Call on YouTube.

What kind of shotgun?

I don't know much about shotguns, but I'm armed with Wikipedia and the internet so I can help some (maybe).

12 gauge, type doesn't bother me too much. However, would prefer looking into pump-action.

If you're able to buy it, I'd recommend the SPAS 12.
It looks cool, and fires in both pump-action and semi-auto.

I'd also recommend the Remington 870 and Mossberg 500 series.

The 870 is the classic shotgun to recommend. I would like to get one at some point.
