There is a reason that the military teaches shooting.

If you try to teach a teenager gun safety, the first they're gonna do is point the gun in every direction, but the safe direction.

I'm British. My exposure is limited.

Outside of the army stuff, I've fired a few hand guns in Denmark with my uncle, but don't ask me what they were. I've been on 2 hunting weekends with a very rich friend of mine when I used a Holland and Holland shotgun and missed everything.

H&H. I am impressed.

I wasn't. To me it was just a really front heavy gun with crap sights, I much prefer rifles.

But then again, I have no basis of comparison with other shotguns.

Well if the bullet went over the backstop (outdoor) or ricocheted (indoor) it could endanger someone.

Not a shotgun fan myself. I was assuming H&H shotguns are of the same quality as their double rifles. Probably just as expensive as well.

Not just teenagers. In my entire shooting life (45 years or so), I've only had one untrained person remark (about the finger off the trigger rule) "Isn't that just common sense".

Yep. When I was first teaching Roan the basics of gun safety, that was her response.

Even if she doesn't take to liking shooting, she has got the basic safety training for all firearms and any gun-specific ones. Repeated as necessary, likely to the point of irritation.

Exactly. I learned gun safety at an early age with little difficulty. If an 8 year old can manage it, a teenager should be able to.

Holy shit Ma'am (Or Sergeant, but frankly the insult is warranted), what are you wearing your FLC for if not to store magazines in the pouches attached to it? Are they full of candy or something? Is this some advanced technique from a shooting school to speed up reload time?

Please tell me she's only demonstrating for the audience.

When I went to a camp last summer, I had the treat of taking a “hunter safety” class, which is the first and currently only time I have ever fired firearms.

Was handed a single-shot Savage .22 and 5 rounds on the first day, with a bullseye a few meters away. Was the first to finish those 5 rounds, nearly had a misfire on the 3rd or 2nd round, and accuracy was that of a stormtrooper.

Third day, handed a shortened Remington 870 in 20ga.
Wasted 5 out of 9 clays like a North Korean AA gunner.

The bigger issue is where she isn't storing her spare mags! You're not an action hero, your pouches have a purpose!

With a .22, I've gotten 42/50 points, with 10 rounds, from a bench. With both a Remington 870 and an 1100, I think I could consistently get 8-9 birds out of 10. I believe the shotguns were both full size.

You shouldn’t be embarrassed. Us Asians invented firearms, we’re just as good as making them as you whiteys. (No real racism meant, lol.)

The QBZ-95 is a decent platform (one of the few bullpups that are good-looking IMO), and the QCW-05 PDW is as pretty as a Ming dynasty vase.
