No, the problem with democracy is that it means that people who, for example, oppose homosexual marriage, have a vote.

You are both wrong. Everyone deserves to have a say in a democratic government, otherwise, it is not truly a democracy.

Which is why I have said that democracy isn't an end in itself. It's a means to an end, the end being a happy, progressive and productive society. When democracy goes against that, then it's not a very effective means.
