When the GM did not mention me, the owner was like "okay wait but Alix can literally do everything in the store with scary accuracy."
And the GM said "But she's mean."
And the owner said "what the fuck"
It boils down to this: I do his job better than he does. So when I am calling out directions for people to follow, he thinks I am mean. Why? Because I dare take a position of authority while possessing a vagina.
I don't see it. If you do your job like you're supposed to then it boils down to him just putting excuses or just simply not liking you. It may not even be that you're mean but some people just don't like you and won't like you no matter what you do or you come across to him as mean.
In other words, is not always sexism or racism, sometimes is simple competition or faulty perceptions. People think I am intimidating while I really am not, and I am okay with that. Other people think I am a God damn asshole who should go throw himself off of the Grand Canyon and die already and stop being a waste of resources. Nothing I can do.
Let me put it this way. The first person who asked to become manager has gotten complaints from about 6 people for being overbearingly mean, shouting at people for no reason, and arguing over petty things. He cannot take orders, prep, or do anything involving the computer system. All he knows is how to make the pizza and cut the pizza. But he is going to be a manager.
