Winning the female vote is the only reason we know who Sarah Palin is. The McCain people somehow thought that Hillary's supporters would abandon Obama is they put a woman on the ticket with McCain.

I thought it was because Johnny Mac was attracted to Palin and imagined late night sessions at the Oval Office with her. He has a history of cheating and it seemed more logical than any other reason I could think of. For a man of his age, Palin is very attractive. Your idea is the safer one to make public though.

Perhaps Rand Paul could place a minority on the ticket as a way to show republicans are not just for whites. Dr. Walter Williams (respected African-American economist) would be a possible choice if he wanted to accept it. This could help him get the minority vote. I can't think of any good female choices though.

Why would that win the black vote? They tend to be a little smart about token gestures.

Is this a good reason to win or did it simply cheapen the award? I will find it hard to respect the award now. He is basically another Bush anyways (just as Hillary will be). He took his sweet time leaving Iraq and he still has kept us in Afghanistan and he opposes civil liberties (look at his comments about the great patriot Snowden). They need to apologize for giving him the award.

Then clearly Fox, as we already know, is full of hypocrites. Obama followed the withdrawal date set by Bush to the letter. Obama had basically nothing to do with withdrawing from Iraq; he actually wanted to keep US troops there longer, until the Iraqi government threatened to try American war criminals.
