Society considers it more acceptable for women to have homosexual relations than men. Women are probably more likely to be open-minded about this. For many men it would be depressing and it wouldn't surprise me if some even commit suicide and/or murder as a result of the deception.

I agree but we both know that some people would do it. I would be angry enough to want to hurt the person (but might not for fear of being arrested) but a more violent person might respond in a tougher way. A person that is already depressed might be pushed over the edge by the shock of having slept with a transsexual.

Hopefully the transsexual is honest before any intimacy occurs. Otherwise, it is cruel deception.

I think that if someone is dating a person for awhile and finds them attractive, then their genitals would be secondary to them as a person. It seems to be outright transphobia in our society that makes people somehow afraid or uneasy about pre op trans people. A trans person shouldn't have to talk about their trans status or their genitals right away when they start dating a person; how often do people talk about their genitals right away as they start dating?

Besides, male and female genitals are the same anyway, the parts are just arranged differently.

In my personal experience a lot of people didn't know ftms existed, so that may be why. Besides that it may be because they view being trans as cross dressing, and many more people get their panties in a bunch over men in feminine clothing but not women in masculine clothing.
