Unsurprisingly, I end up close to the green party, both on the graph, and with the bars.

Did anyone see the Greens just announced a rise in the top tax rate to 40% on income above $140,000, to pay for a child poverty reduction program? Good on them, in my opinion, the top tax rate in NZ is one of the lowest in the OECD, and is 14 per-cent below Australia's top tax rate, 12 per-cent below the UK's, and far below the US (although it varies from state-to-state: in Texas you'd pay 39.6% while in California you'd pay 52.9%)
Economic Left/Right: -5.75
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -5.95

Pros: social democracy, LGBT+ rights, pro-choice, free education and health care, environmentalism, Nordic model, secularism, welfare state, multiculturalism
Cons: social conservatism, neoliberalism, hate speech, racism, sexism, 'right-to-work' laws, religious fundamentalism

NP - 60%
ACT - 58%
UF - 51%
NZF - 47%
MRI - 45%
LAB - 38%
GRN - 24%
MNA - 19%

I know very little about New Zealand or its politics, so I can't say if the results were accurate or not.

I'm not sure what an "anti-smacking" law is, but if it's illegal to smack your gum in New Zealand, I must move there. Now.

I got National. Unweighted I was right where National are, while my weighted results put me near them but more on the socially conservative end of the spectrum.

I was, however, surprised that ACT were my second place given that I generally despise the ACT party.

I'm not a fan of that policy, but New Zealanders I think fail to realise how lucky we are in terms of our tax burden. We have the second lowest tax burden in the OECD.

I came between National and ACT on the graph, and I got 80% ACT, 68% National.

EDIT: Took it again, since it looks different. Got 81% ACT, 61% Conservative, 60% National, 58% United Future, 44% Labour and NZ First, 41% Maori, 21% Green, and 16% Mana.

Mana-Internet: Extreme left-wing to anti-globalist and anti-establishment party run by a criminal, a xenophobe and snake.
None of that is proven, in fact all the evidence would point to the extradition process floundering and never getting anywhere, at best for National Kim Dotcom might be fined. You could claim Hone Harawira as a Maori Nationalist, but he is hardly 'xenophobic'. But I am voting Internet-Mana this time, last time I voted NZ First, as it is fun to snub the establishment and get people elected that the media or Labour/National don't like. I would never vote Labour or National the local seat, unless I was in an electorate where that actually did something.

Here are my results.

This poll seems very fishy to me; slanted.

I told them I moved to NZ in 1888 since they had no "not NZ" option.

I should have said I was born in 2014, which was also an option.

Very weak poll design.

Was this test, by any chance, funded by the green party?

You could claim Hone Harawira as a Maori Nationalist, but he is hardly 'xenophobic'.

Saying you would disown your own children because they came home with a white person is pretty damned xenophobic.

Winston isn't anti-establishment. He's also another racist, although the ire of his comments are Asians.

I would never vote Labour or National the local seat, unless I was in an electorate where that actually did something.

No. If the comment is based on the poll in this thread you have to remember that: a) the vast majority of NSG is not NZ based, b) NSG is famously left wing, c) NSG is completely non-representative of NZ demographically and d) any other of a great number of reasons why it can't be considered applicable to NZ.

The poll exists is simply because this thread is envisioned both as a "Where are you on the political compass?" type sort of thing and a discussion of the issues involved more generally.
