This is a war zone. Not roughed up suburbs.

They were firing rockets.

Still not a damn war zone, and it's called a tear gas grenade.

you should study up on the dynamic of rioting so you can understand what happened here.

Did the rioting bring Brown back to life? Did it stop the cop from shooting him? No? Sounds pointless to me then.

What it DID do is demonstrate just how inept the police force there is, and that it definitely needs to be reformed.
"The Nixon campaign in 1968, and the Nixon White House after that, had two enemies: the antiwar left and black people. You understand what I'm saying? We could arrest their leaders. raid their homes, break up their meetings, and vilify them night after night on the evening news. Did we know we were lying about the drugs? Of course we did."—former Nixon domestic policy chief John Ehrlichman

Wasn't the point. The point was to pressure the police to investigate properly and fairly and to be seen to investigate properly and fairly. That's now happening.

Inept? Pretty sure they stopped rioting and are now attempting peaceful protests.

It's not up to the President, it would be up to the Governor of the state. I doubt it'll come to that, they put the State Police (the Highway Patrol) in charge.

Yes, let's just ignore that it was a result of initial police usage of disproportionate amounts of force on peaceful protesters in the first place, and that this would have all been avoided if they were trained properly and knew how to deal with large protests.

I'm aware, but the President would be the one whom could declare Martial Law like during the LA Riots, and due to his comments, I don't think he will.

No it didn't. The protests happened as early as Saturday while the rioting happened days after.

So far, I'm impressed by this Captain. He seems to be doing pretty good.

The riots happened only after police used disproportionate amounts of force against peaceful protesters. Of course, this isn't an excuse either, but it's wrong to paint the rioting as nothing more than a response to Brown being killed.

It doesn't matter if someone was killed, even if it was a white victim, there is absolutely no excuse to riot whatsoever.
