I believe that the most central flaw in humanity is sin, and that "the Christian religion," for lack of a better term, is the personal journey to become more like God through prayer and reading the Bible, and encourage others on their journey.
And you believe of course that the only way humanity can be free of its depraved state is to be washed in the blood of Jesus?

That's an odd way of putting in it. I believe salvation is the moment at which a person realises that they are condemned by the Law, and only Jesus' sacrifice can save them. Is that what you meant?

I thought you had said humanity was in a state of sin? (potentially due to Adam but that's me ad libbing)

NS seems to attract a particular group of people. Luckily I've probably seen more polite Christians on here to counteract the fundamentalists that are usually talked about, so the site isn't all bad when it comes to religion.

Essentially, in my line of thought, sin is a problem that started with Adam and effects the entire human race, and the universe as a whole. The Law was written to point out that no matter how "righteous" an individual is, he is not worthy of heaven. Salvation gives the individual immunity from sin as far as hell is concerned, although only under the condition that the individual is sorry for their sin, and desires to become more Christ-like.

And the only way to be saved, is through the blood of Jesus, yes?

Often times so called "fundamentalists" ignore the fundamentals of Christianity they claim to believe.
