These guys have pulled some 14th century style stuff over the past few weeks, even killing kids and other Muslims. They aren't the nicest guys in the world.

I'm going to have to give the award for strongest to Saudi or Israel in that particular category, but that's for another topic.

I wouldn't go that far. I mean in Syria they were really getting hit hard by both government and rebel forces and were really limited in their territorial gains based off of how expansive they were. Iraq was a whole other story. Weak leadership, a pissed off Sunni minority, Iraq fell not because ISIS was to good they fell because they had no competent leadership. Iran, Turkey, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, really any of the big players in the Middle East to hold its own against IS.

This whole crisis with ISIS could be effectively resolved without any Western interference. The answer is simple: that big country due east of Iraq. ISIS is a Sunni militant group, and Iran has absolutely no desire to see them take Iraq, which is on their border, or Syria, their biggest Arab ally. Compare ISIS to the Taliban in Afghanistan - Sunni militants that threatened Iran. When the US invaded Afghanistan, Iran provided the Americans with intelligence, maps, and contacts that enabled them to link up with the Northern Alliance and get the Taliban out of power. This was in both the interests of Iran and the US (the Taliban had seized the Iranian consulate in Mazar-i-Sharif in 1998, and Iran was happy to see a hostile, Sunni neighbour go). The same applies to ISIS.

Iran wants there to peace in the Middle East, both for economic reasons and national security reasons, and they definitely don't want ISIS on their border. And the only people opposed to Iranian intervention are the Saudis and a few radical conservatives in US Congress. We've given the Saudis and the Turks a shot at the crisis, and they haven't done anything about it. So now its time to bring in Iran.

Yeah, destroyed 2 ISIS convoys, a few AA positions in the way, and ammunition depots, I believe.

We already took military action, and the President is authorizing more strikes, and IS troops have already been stomped on by US Airpower.

Yeah, destroyed 2 ISIS convoys, a few AA positions in the way, and ammunition depots, I believe.

Very nice, I doubt anyone stateside is opposed to airstrikes so we should really step it up.
