Still, the question must be raised as to why the Kurds withdrew when they were apparently so successful, and why their casualty numbers for the ISIS are strangely vague.

It could very well be that the Peshmerga are being completely honest, but I'm going to be cynical for the time being.

I don't find their figures to be vague, or at least not any more vague than what is normally reported from an active war zone.

They may have lost this battle, but this hardly means they are beaten.

Looks like the ISIS is becoming a bit of a threat. If they manage to hold the oilfields then they can start using that to take over other areas. However, if the losses are true then the ISIS will have a major setback if the Kurds counter attack. I really do hope the Kurds take their oil back, but Allah knows best.
