Pelosi's manner and attitude were completely unbefitting of what is expected of her as a Congresswoman. She shouldn't be interrupting the Representative and confronting him when it's not her turn to speak, it's just unprofessional and disorderly.

Congresswoman like Pelosi are obliged to engage in civil, orderly conduct, and she did not do that. Therefore, her actions were most certainly immature and she needs to apologize.

Say what you want about House Republicans and their incompetence, but they would never do stupid shit like this. And calling a US rep. "insignificant"? Fuck this bitch.

Pelosi has got to go.

Border crisis? There's no meaningful "border crisis" in the US. If you want to see a REAL border crisis, go check at Lampedusa, or on the Turkey-Syria border, or at the Russia-Ukraine border, or at the Gaza-Egypt border. Get a grip on reality.

Oh, that's right... Nothing. Ergo, he's insignificant.
Pelosi, on the other hand, was House Majority Leader, is current House Minority Leader, and was greatly responsible for getting a major piece of legislation ("Obamacare") passed through the House.

1. Okay, so you're laughing at Pelosi. We're simply disagreeing with your idea that her actions are a source of mockery, and questioning the premise of some of your assumptions. That's not a holier than thou attitude. That's simply how disagreements work. If you're not able to handle disagreements without accusing others of having a poor attitude or of having ugly motivations, then it's going to be very difficult for you to find people willing to engage with you after a while. And, yes, one of the things that I'm calling into question is the need for this thread over what seems to have been a minor matter. I don't see the need for it, you disagree. I fail to see how this implies any anger on my part.

2. My comment regarding taking you seriously was an attempt to explain why you were mistaken in your thought that I was angry. I can't get angry at you, since I don't take you seriously at all. If you're not able to handle people explaining to you why you're wrong regarding their motivations and feelings, then perhaps you shouldn't attempt to characterize their motivations and feelings.

1. But how are her actions not a source of mockery? I mean, honestly. She blatantly breaks House decorum, chases a Republican around the floor, made Tweets calling him "insignificant" (if that isn't childish then I don't know what is), and accepted an apology she has no proof he ever gave. If you can't see how people would mock that, then you're dense. It's as simple as that. And you still haven't addressed my other point. There have been plenty of other threads on this forum dedicated to mocking Republicans. Two that happened fairly recently (one was that whole Republican gets a Democrat confused with a foreigner thing). I never heard a peep from you regarding those threads. So why the sudden interest in this one? Why can't we have a laugh at Pelosi's funny mistake?

2. You certainly came off as if you were angry. You seem to be fairly ravenous in defending Pelosi in this instance. I'm somewhat maybe not really sorry that I got your emotions mixed up. It's a rather moot point, and I honestly don't care if you don't take me seriously. I do take offense at insults, though.

1. She's not being accused by him of sending tweets calling him insignificant. The Congressman stated that she used the term to refer to him on the House floor.

What proof should someone need of an apology made in private? Would you have preferred it if she had surreptitiously recorded him?

Tu quoque is not an actual argument.

You can certainly have a laugh at it if you wish. We're simply pointing out why it's a bit silly to do so, considering the fact that the major laughs that you're getting out of this seem to be based upon the mischaracterization of Pelosi as "chasing" him (she walked across the floor quickly) in order to confront him on his lies, and your mistaken impression that she was sending out tweets describing him as insignificant when he was complaining that she called him that on the House floor (and I notice that you're not providing proof of any such thing despite your need for it when it comes to an apology made in private).

2. I haven't insulted you even once. On the other hand, when taking offense at perceived insults, it's probably best to not insinuate in the same post that the person you're replying to is dense.

Seems like you are trying to justify her ridiculous actions. No U.S. representative is insignificant, and even if he is that is not something you just yell at him in a civil debate, let alone run across the House floor pointing a finger. She wasn't supposed to be talking for Christ's sake. I am sure if a Republican did this, those on the left would be flippin' their shit.

She behaved very irresponsibly and very immaturely. We should hold government officials to higher standards of behavior and common decency. If these are the types of people we continue to elect to government, I have no faith in the future of democracy in America or anywhere else.

There was no need for her to get so agitated and she stepped out of line. I think she should take some time out... otherwise the level of debate in the Congress (already low enough as it is now) may deteriorate even further if it is perceived that such types of confrontational theatrics are not only tolerated but promoted. Unfortunately, confrontationalism and adversarialism are often what democracies inevitably promote with the focus on winning elections and ''out-talking'' your opponents.

"Bitch" is the female equivalent of "bastard", so it goes both ways.

And why, when she does stupid shit like this, should I not have a bias against her?
