Isn't that sort of thing common knowledge? Anyway, ask, and ye shall receive. Hell, here's a shipping company saying bottled water is one of the things it ships. From anywhere in the world, to anywhere in the world.

Yeah okay, I understand that it's sometimes done, presumably for expensive brands (for the kind of people willing to pay 50$ for a bottle of Kilimanjaro glacier water). But I mean the fact that it's done on such a massive scale that it actually influences the water supply in the country of origin? Where's the sense in that? All the rich countries (Europe, North America, Japan) have plenty of water themselves. What economical rationale is there to spend all that extra money on transportation?

Water's probably cheaper for them in Africa. The governments are all too willing to hand control of it over to the corporations in exchange for some cash.

China was just filling a vacuum in Africa.

Well, we need to push them out.

Catholicism has the fullness of the splendor of truth: The Bible and the Church Fathers agree!

Should have thought of that when the Cold War was going on. China's simply taking over where the Soviets left off.

The US, by comparison, has always failed to appeal to the majority of post-colonial African states.

Ek bly in Australie nou, maar Afrika sal altyd in my hart wees. Maak nie saak wat gebeur nie, ek is trots om te kan sê ek is 'n kind van hierdie ingewikkelde soms wrede kontinent. Mis jou altyd my Suid-Afrika, hier met n seer hart al die pad van Melbourne af!

Major companies like Nestle, Coke, Pepsi, and the like go to countries in Africa, get the governments to privatize the water, and take control over the water supply, bottling most of it, and sending it overseas, and charging the people living there exorbitant amounts for the little water they give them.

Yes! The US already does wonders in Africa. Look at PEPFAR, quite possibly the greatest act of compassion in human history!

Don't get me wrong, I like what the USA does in Africa but I prefer in most cases, the Chinese way of doing things. African leaders agree that the Chinese have a much more easier way of giving aid even if it is to people like Mugabe's regime. I dont like the US's criteria of getting aid even if it promotes free speech and so on and I think we can all agree that is the reason why China has already beaten the USA in influence, and support in our continent.
