And convincingly declaring No.

Which means that No has now officially reached the winning line across Scotland as a whole; Moray and the Highlands can't change the result.

And they're hardly like to vote YES anyway.

So, yeah....it's official. NO wins, with about 55% of the vote.

I recommend a certain graciousness to the supporters of both sides of the vote, especially after a campaign so fraught with negativity.

Or is it rather, that one side failed to get the result they wanted, which is subjective ?

Well there's plans to give Manchester (my city) greater autonomy since it has a larger economy than Wales and Northern Ireland. They damn well better or us 'barbarians' from Northern England will secede!

If any city is first in line for greater autonomy it's London, it has higher population and GDP then Scotland.

Seeing as Glasgow is the only majority Yes vote so far, I'd bet that we'll be seeing No votes from those areas as well.

Not the only one - Dundee City also voted yes (57%), as did West Dunbartonshire (54%) and North Lanarkshire (51%). Inverclyde voted 50% YES and 50% NO - or near enough.

Yes, but many of us will consider West Dunbartonshire, North Lanarkshire and Inverclyde (which did vote No, by however narrow a margin) as being part of greater Glasgow.

So while Utceforp missed Dundee, "Yes only won in Dundee and parts of greater Glasgow" would be a fair enough comment.

Oh, that's fair enough - I certainly don't object to supporters of the losing side of the vote crying into their beers. A certain sorrow is natural.
