IIRC, the atmosphere is made of steam, and as you go farther down, the pressure gets greater until all the molecules/atoms are forced together due to gravity and pressure.

You people are so smart, it makes me feel funny where I pee. Thank you for the answer that I clearly forgot from science classes in school. Duh. So it's brined and boiling. Sounds like we can call it Pressure Cooker. All we need now is to find a turkey planet or a crab planet...and a butter planet, a stuffing planet...mmmmm.
