Despite the cute cat avatar I have, I generally agree with the principle of the OP but in a much broader way then just dogs. We should stop keeping animals as pets and eventually wean it down to just having domesticated animals for food.

Solar UV radiation is actually a very serious problem in Australia. Skin cancer kills thousands of people a year. Just because it's natural doesn't make it good.

I can clearly see your opinion, and I respect that. Though, I think it would be impossible to live without dogs. For example, some dogs are brought to hospitals and used to realise some kind of hormone that cheers them up. The dog, (Wish i could remember the name) usually is with depressed kids and makes them feel better. Dogs have also saved countless lives through police work, fire fighting, and have hunted food for us through anicet times, helping us make life easier.
