This is a likely outcome. A Plea deal for voluntary manslaughter. 6 months in a county Jail Probation likely for the rest of his life.

A bit light for my taste, but better than no punishment at all. I hope that a condition of probation would be that he can't keep a gun?

Turns out shouting "I'm pregnant" after breaking an old man's collar bone in his own home doesn't shut off his adrenaline or murderous rage.

Maybe she should have tried, "Wait, you've just been Punk'd!"

The point of the law is to deter crime by making it clear that law abiding citizens will not be afraid to use lethal force to defend their homes. To prosecute him would be to defeat the entire point of it.

That's fine, but they were running away. They were on their way off the property, and he still shot them.

As long as they're on your property there's something that can be done. The only good burglars are dead or in prison.

If anyone wants to complain about the Castle Doctrine, it's probably going to be criminal sympathizers. They threw the right to life when they rob a person in a Castle Doctrine state. In states without it, killing intruders is a crime.

The problem is how stupid does one have to be to rob in a state with such a law? The answer is quite.
