Seeing as how Ebola isn't as easily spread as most diseases are, I dont see a global pandemic happening so I'm not worried.

They were talking in the news that one of the US health workers that had come down with Ebola and who was sent to the US received a new experimental drug while in Africa. Seems they sent three vials of this new experimental drug from the US which was never tested on people to test on this health worker. They say that in 20 minutes it had affected him very favorable. So it seems they may finally have something to effectively combat Ebola.

I think being quarantined is the best solution as of currently although asking aid from African states and seeking aid from the WHO is also very effective and will help in overall effectiveness and a better response in the future.

Look at the book Hot Zone by Richard Preston. It is all about Ebola. In it, it has a strain that is passed through the air, like the flu. Granted it was only in monkeys, but if it adapted to infect humans...

It is required reading in Honors Biology (that is how I know about it). It really is a fascinating read.

To anyone who hasn't read it, highly recommend reading it.

I have a boner.

No, seriously.

I believe that we should do what the CDC did with drugs to treat AIDS in the 1980s - Remove some safeguards to get them approved quicker.

Of course, the downside is that you might be screwed following the side effects.

Yeah we will all turn into mutants, and Will Smith will have to find a cure. #IamLegend I know it was a cancer cure but still

Wow, there's no facepalm icon anymore.

Seriously.

:facepalm

doesn't work.

I meant, a law mostly the same except to deal with Ebola, and people didn't become involuntarily become guinea pigs during the 1980s either.

EDIT: Wait, there IS a facepalm smiley.

Just it's not on the side list, when every other smiley is - even the ones under view more smileys.

That's a good point. We should instead use biological weapons as they do not leave long term fallout after it's done. Oh wait...

Purpelia does not reflect my actual world views. In fact, the vast majority of Purpelian cannon is meant to shock and thus deliberately insane. I just like playing with the idea of a country of madmen utterly convinced that everyone else are the barbarians. So play along or not but don't ever think it's for real.
