2. Why Paganism?

1. I agree, it is just difficult with my family to be open.

2. It was what I have unknowingly believed for the past 5 years. It makes sense to me.

Only reason I ask, is that pretty much all the religions we classify as "paganism" Nordic, Germanic, GrecoRoman, etc., can be traced back to the Babylonian/Canaanite Pantheon which is where Judaism also arose.

32 pages and no major fights? :/

My parents themselves are very accepting of my beliefs thought they themselves are Christians though they don't go to church often.

There are two Indo-European Pantheons, actually. Not really arguing with you, it's just a fun fact.

That's still Theoretical. IMHO it is far more likely the suspected indo-european religion is in fact derived from the Babylonian Pantheon. The Canaanites would later become the Phoenecians, and the Greeks, populating westward. The Hittites, populating eastward to India. All of it radiates with the FC at the Center.

Sansa Stark is the best Game of Thrones character, closely followed by Theon Greyjoy.

Truthfully I'm not sure what to suggest. I would hate telling my grandparents about my beliefs and have them scared of my going to hell; I would also hate to live the lie. It really is a shit pair of options. Hell really is a shitty idea.

I agree, and their is no way out. I could wait till I live on my own to allow the truth out, but it is bad anyway I think of it.

I promise it won't be as bad as you think.

I went through the same thing (decided I wasn't Christian) and my family had to respect that. And they're evangelicals.

Discussion Question:
How big a role does religion play in your life?
Like, your own religion, the religion of your family, friends, government, etc etc.

Depending on your definition of religion, I guess. My mother is (or was) a Protestant, as are some of my relatives and friends, but traditionally we do not focus a lot on religions in general. We also worship our ancestors and the native gods and people in special ceremonies, and even the Christian relatives are fine with that.
Call me Reno.

It used to be a big part, I would pray & read my bible every night and attend church every sunday and sometimes wednesdays. I haven't attended church in a while, though, because basically I think as long as I'm a good person I should be fine.

My mom and the rest of my relatives on her side are much more religious.

More religions need to promote that.

Well it plays a big role in folk life and folk religion, alot of people here are more relaxed when it comes to religion. "If someone wants to race during church and everyone leaves to watch it, then the priest better mind his buisness." :lol2:

Religion plays a role in everyone's lives, at least to a small extent.

Even if someone is atheist or agnostic, society participates in many religious activities. For Americans, it is Christianity. We all participate in practices influenced by a historically religious culture, to the point that we don't even notice it.

It doesn't. If I have a friend that is part of some wierd cult thing, like Christianity, we just find other topics to talk about.
