In response to the poll, no. It should never be viewed as correct no matter what.

As a Catholic, we believe that the Bible was created using divine inspiration from God, but it was copied down by fallible men, so there will always be mistakes.

And, most theologians believe that to be true, so thank you for not being naive enough to believe that everything in the bible is true.

Why would an omnipotent being allow for mortal mistakes. Especially one as big as the earth being only a few thousand years old.

God didn't seem to put much in stock with free will in the old testament. For that matter, he doesn't seem to put much stock in it with the new testament.

6000 is not exactly in the Bible, what someone did was take in all the begots and the ages of the people in the bible up till Jesus and somehow calculate the how long it had been since adam and eve.

Maybe, but every fan community in the world tend to function otherwise. You should know it when fanon starts to develop character traits to characters that are given different characterisation.
