I just believe Russia isn't stupid and would never have authorized this sort of thing. Malaysia is an ally not only to the US but also has close ties with Russia. I mean... why would anyone do this? It was a private aircraft, not a fucking scud or military craft.

The rebels are made up of a lot of people varying in quality, and have to do with unmaintained equipment. Someone with enough skill to use the AA but not enough sense to think before firing it, or had a superior yelling at them to fire it, probably made this happen.

Pretty much everything I have read is that a majority of Western Europe and the West in general does not support Russia on the decisions its made. The only strong variable is how much they are willing to do about it.
