At least it's not a minor - minors can't be electors, much less elected.

And what is that exactly?

Do you even know who these guys are? Ron Paul wants to bring the troops home and end foreign intervention.

I strongly doubt that Liz Warren is "free from corporate interest". Bernie Sanders' anti-Fed actions have shown that he probably is, but Warren is still a corporate shill who's fighting to keep the Ex-Im Bank open and has called for a minimum wage so high to make the Walmart execs jump with joy at the sound of it.

Cruz pisses off a lot of people. I strongly believe that Paul will nominate Marco Rubio as his running mate. Moderate enough to grab the traditional conservative vote, has Hispanic outreach and has youth to balance out the ticket.

But I wouldn't discount Cruz becoming Senate Majority Leader some day down the line.

Are there any non-religious Republicans currently in the House or Senate?

Anyway, the only Republican I could stomach being President is Christie, but I wouldn't advocate that, nor do I agree with him on anything. And he's a bully/corrupt, but his policies aren't too extreme. He's just relatively moderate and NJ hasn't really become a bastion of conservatism ever since his governorship started. But I can imagine he'd have to make himself more conservative for the national stage, i.e. what Romney did. (As gov. of Massachusetts he was pretty centrist) So I would not support him, but I'd rather him than Jeb Bush..

Of course he'd make himself more conservative. That's why all this talk of running a moderate is horse hockeys. The far right-wing of the GOP will force any candidate to suck up to it, lest they stay home and not vote. Remember, the GOP has lost five of the last six presidential popular votes and each time they did they moved farther to the right.

I don't know why they do that. A plurality of Americans consider themselves 'independent', so a far-right candidate is going to find it harder to win the election. Democratic candidates are pretty centrist. (those from the Progressive caucus are never/rarely chosen for the Presidential candidacy) Although, when Republicans choose someone moderate, they end up alienating the Tea Party people.

You did say ideal after all.

Or, slightly more realistically since atleast they both lived in the modern era, Garret Hardin/Pentti Linkola

If they have to both be currently living Americans, uh. Hmm. Just grab some lobster fisherman from the coast, he'll be better than anyone who's already involved in politics.

That is precisely the reason I'd want them in charge; nature is more important than people, and overpopulation is the single greatest cause of problems in the world today. Although I'm not for genocide; I think disease, war, starvation, and other natural population checks would function as they're supposed to if they were left to work.

EDIT: It would be really pertinent to specify that I'm also a localist and value pluralist, and believe that families and towns and counties should regulate themselves as they see fit. I'm fine with other people disagreeing and wanting to live their own way, so long as they grant the same to my family and friends and I to act as we believe is moral as well.

And Genghis Khan a Mongol and Confucius a Chinese who lived over a millenia apart from one another, heh. It was an ideal, not a possibility.
